Description
MICRO ETCHING CONCRETE CLEANER
Acid based cleaner etches and profiles concrete surfaces in preparation for sealing or staining. Surf-Prep opens concrete pores to allow adequate penetration and adhesion of concrete stains, dyes and coatings. Surf-Prep safely profiles concrete surfaces without the harsh hazards of using muriatic acid. Concentrated and economical cleaner works great on all types of un-sealed concrete.
Surf Prep also works great to remove light efflorescence and rust stains from most concrete, brick, stone and masonry.
Please Note: Although Surf-Prep can be used to pre-etch trowel finished concrete surfaces, we ALWAYS recommend diamond grinding if at all possible before application of any stain, dye, sealer or coating on trowel finished concrete.

Mixing Instructions
Surf-Prep can be diluted with up to 3 parts water before use. Dilute material with water to desired dilution rate (1:1 for hard slick trowel surface, up to 3:1 with water for broomed or lightly troweled surfaces)
ALWAYS ADD ACID TO WATER, NOT WATER TO ACID!!
Application Instructions
Always test Surf-Prep first in an inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility and desired results. Surf-Prep will not work properly over sealed or coated concrete surfaces and is not to be used as a chemical coating stripper.
After neutralizing, rinse thoroughly with clean water. Surface and pores must be clean, dry and free of all chemicals before applying stains, dyes or sealers.
Allow substrate to dry completely before proceeding with the application of a coating or stain.
Warning: Applying Surf-Prep to colored concrete or manufactured stone may remove color from the surface.
Coverage Rates
Coverage rates are approximate and will vary depending on substrate density, porosity and temperature. Coverage rates based on product already diluted with water. Remember Surf-Prep is highly concentrated and 1 gallon can yield up to 4 gallons of ready to use product when diluted with up to 3 parts water : 1 part concentrate.
Etching troweled concrete: 100-125 sq. ft. / gallon (based on product already diluted 1:1 with water) - This means one gallon of Surf-Prep should be enough to etch 200-250 sq. ft. at this rate and dilution.
Etching broom-swept or other types of more porous concrete: 100-125 sq. ft. / gallon (based on product already diluted 2:1 with water) - This means one gallon of Surf-Prep should be enough to etch 300-375 sq. ft. at this rate and dilution.
